Introduction of sealed lead acid battery

Valve regulated lead-acid battery (VRLA) is a kind of lead-acid battery which is widely used. The main features are:

1. The electrolyte was adsorbed in AGM separator or changed into colloidal state without free acid;

2. Each unit has a safety valve, which is sealed most of the time. When the internal pressure of the battery is too high, the safety valve will open automatically to reduce the internal air pressure, and will automatically close when the air pressure is stable

The principle of gas recombination proposed by Dassler in 1938 is the theoretical basis of VRLA;

Gel (gel) technology of German sunshine company in 1957 and AGM technology of gates company of America in 1971 are the practical basis of VRLA.

At present, there are mainly two kinds of AGM technology and gel technology.

Basic structure of VRLA battery

1. Positive and negative plates

2. Clapboard

3. Electrolyte

4. Safety valve

5. Shell

6. Terminal

Basic structure of VRLA battery

-Shell: usually made of plastic or metal

-Positive pole: the outflow end of current

-Negative electrode: the inflow end of current

-Terminal: internal connection with active substances, external electrical appliances

-Separator: prevent positive and negative short circuit, and provide internal transmission channel of electron

-Safety valve: one way exhaust passage to ensure battery safety
